Anthracite Version 1.7 Change Log
Anthracite version 1.7 (released 6/19/2007)
New Features:
XSLT Processor - Anthracite now provides XSLT support using the method built-in to Cocoa's NSXMLDocument. Enter the XSLT, set your options, and then process XML documents by passing the text through these processors.
FilterTags Processor - More powerful and easy to use support for filtering (both blocking and passing) the tags in HTML documents. Supports the complete set of W3C tags as of the current release. Use this processor to get all the anchor tags from a document, or to block all images on a page, or to extract form fields.
Enhancements/Updates:
Default string encoding - Found certain corner cases in which the default encoding setting failed to convert incoming data, in those cases, reverting/defaulting to ASCII (if available) instead of nil data.
Support for "feed://" URL protocol - in URL and URL List sources. Updated in base URL handling, so should also be picked up in other URL settings fields, but all possible cases not tested.
Source URL in Results Window now clickable - convenience UI to make it easy to visit the source URL of a result by clicking the URL in the results window.
Fixed bug in "Fix Links" images mode - fixed corner case issue with image URL handling.
Fixed bug with certain URL handling in Links on Page processor - fixed corner case issue with certain URLs being handled incorrectly in Links on Page processor.
Assorted internal cleanups - to log messages and console debugging output.
Work on XPath Processor - several updates to XPath processor to hopefully address user reported issues.
New Example Documents
New Solution - "Web History to Tag Cloud" is a useful demonstration showing how to harvest a user's Safari web history, filter URLs for subsequent processing, and generate a "Tag Cloud" representation of the keywords from any list of URLs. Includes one-step AppleScript to manage three Anthracite document processes in sequence. Requires Safari History Plugin (included with distribution disk image).
