The Spotlight importer is distributed independently as a standard package installer. Simply run the package installer and enter your administrator authorization to make the importer available to everyone on your system.
Download the Anthracite Spotlight Importer (installer package approx. 550KB)
MacOS X UNIX users may wish to note that it can also install it in one of several System locations, the Apple-recommended location is
/Library/Spotlight
but you can also put it in your personal
~/Library/Spotlight
If you are manually installing the importer, be sure to run
% /usr/bin/mdimport -r PATH_TO_IMPORTER
where you replace PATH_TO_IMPORTER with the full path to the importer in the location where you installed it. This will cause the Spotlight engine to reindex your documents to make for better search performance.
